Entries & Registration, step by step.

How a national federation enters the championship: from the FEI Entry System to the horse acceptance deadline at the Village. Dates below are the sample structure of the 2026 entry calendar; the definitive dates are issued by the FEI and the OC.

The process

From nominated entries to the vet gate

Nominated entries

The federation nominates its long list of athletes and horses in the FEI Entry System. Sample deadline: 8 weeks before the ride.

Definite entries

Up to five athlete/horse combinations per nation, with the chef d'équipe, team veterinarian and grooms. Sample deadline: 4 weeks before the ride.

Documents & transport

FEI passports, health and export certificates, transport and stabling requests, uploaded through the NF team portal.

Ride desk & accreditation

The ride desk opens at the Village on Tuesday 15 December; accreditation is collected there.

Horse acceptance & substitutions

Horse acceptance closes Thursday 17 December at 19:00; the deadline for substitutions is Saturday 19 December at 03:45, before the 05:45 start.

Pre-ride inspection, weigh-in & GPS

Friday 18 December: pre-ride inspection 14:00–17:00, weigh-in and GPS trackers 14:30–17:30, after the riders' briefing at 10:00.

Eligibility at a glance

  • Horses aged 9 years and over; one horse per athlete
  • Minimum riding weight 75 kg including saddle
  • Five riders per nation, best three results count for the team
  • FEI qualification per the FEI Endurance Rules in force for 2026
